I recently visited Clybucca, which is located along the Old Pacific Highway. The area used to be a key stop for truckers, as it is halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. However, now truckers don’t have enough access to the facilities they need like toilets, showers, sleeping areas and decent food. That’s why, when elected, I plan to create a new rest stop similar to the Nhill truck stop between Melbourne and Adelaide and the Tarcutta truck stop between Sydney and Melbourne. This new rest stop will have all the necessary facilities such as toilets, showers, sleeping areas, and quality food. Additionally, it will feature a battery change over station for electric trucks. The rest stop will solely for the use of truckers. My goal is to make sure that truckers have access to the facilities they need while they are on the road.
