I visited Kempsey Airport to investigate a proposed scheme for a skydiving park and rock climbing wall, which I believe is an abuse of bushfire recovery funds. The cost for this project has continued to escalate and I have concerns that it will become known as another “white elephant” in Kempsey, joining the costly cinema and Slim Dusty Center. I believe there should be a public debate about how these funds could be better spent to benefit the community. I am committed to listening to the concerns and ideas of the community and making sure that their needs are met. I will work to ensure that bushfire recovery funds are used in the most effective way possible and that the community’s voices are heard in the decision-making process.
