During my campaign to win the Oxley electorate, I visited the Harold Circuit subdivision and was deeply troubled by what I saw. The development had destroyed important koala habitat, and the estate itself was poorly designed, with many McMansions. I learned that the Nationals state government was responsible for approving this development, and that the local council did not have the resources to ensure that the subdivision had adequate services to serve the community. Specifically, I found that the subdivision lacked a school bus service, which is essential for the safety and well-being of local children. If elected, I will make it a priority to ensure that all subdivisions in the Oxley electorate are properly served with roads, water, sewage, and public transport, and that local councils are funded adequately to carry out this important work. I will also work to protect the local wildlife and its habitat.
