During my campaign to win the Oxley electorate, I went outside the office of Melinda Pavey. Her office is located right next to an Indigenous services agency, yet to my knowledge, she has never stepped inside to see what she can do to support this community. I was particularly concerned when an Indigenous elder friend of mine told me about the issue of pedophilia within the Indigenous community and how it needs to be addressed. If elected, I will fight like a bag of cats to make sure that we have a police unit dedicated to addressing this issue, and that they are fully supported by all other relevant agencies. It is shocking to me that the National Party, who are located right next door to this Indigenous services agency, have never taken the initiative to find out what is happening within the community and how they can use taxpayer money more effectively to protect our children.
